The Home -- taken from The Royal Path of Life (1879)

"Our very nature demands home. It is the first essential element of our social being. This cannot be complete without home relations. There would be no proper equilibrium of life and character without the home influence. The heart bereaved and disappointed, naturally turns for refuge to home life. No spot is so attractive to the wary one: it is the heart's moral oasis. There is a mother's watchful love and a father's sustaining influence. There is a husband's protection and a wife's tender sympathy. There is a circle of loving brothers and sisters happy in each other's love. Oh what is life without these!"

Welcome!

Dear Ladies,

Welcome to Heart and Home! This is my second blog as many of you know, and the Lord has laid on my heart to start this second blog, a blog to encourage ladies to fulfill the calling that the Lord has placed on their lives. So, whether you are 9 or 92, I hope that you will enjoy your time here at Heart and Home. It is our job as Christian Ladies to be learning and growing as keepers at home whether we are single or married...whatever stage in life you are in. We want to encourage ladies to have a heart for God and home.

The theme of this blog will be to obey Titus 2: 3-5

3The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

4That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

As a single lady, it is my job to be learning to become a godly keeper at home, and to also be an encouragement to those younger than me, to share those things that I have learned!

At Heart and Home, we will be sharing homemaking tips, recipes, articles on the home and family, singlehood, marriage, motherhood, and also, I will be asking some godly ladies to write special posts on certain varied subjects! So, I hope you will be checking back often!
Have a great weekend!

In His Hands,
Jennifer
